Picnic at the Wynnum Wading Pool

People love the views out to Moreton Bay - and there are many great picnic spots along the Esplanade. Right near the Wynnum Wading Pool is a great place, with quite a few tables, seats, under cover in the vicinity.

There are two cafe's close by, including Pelicans Nest which is very popular for sit down meals and takeaways.

Everything you could possibly want is in the area, from toilets, play area for children, tables and seats under cover, plenty of parking (though in summer you might have to be early!), and lawns to sit on.

As well, for those with bicycles there are many paths to take a longer journey on wheels. Adjacent to the Wynnum Wading Pool is the Wynnum Jetty, and it is a pleasant walk to the end of the jetty unless the cold winds are blowing in winter.

Beside the jetty is a sandy beach too - lots of fun for the children to play in the sand, make sandcastles or paddle in the shallows.

Swimming? The best place really is in the Wading Pool, though from time to time swimmers can be seen braving the waters of Moreton Bay.
